Choosing the city where you want to live in the coming years is one of the most significant choices you will make in your life, but how can you know which city is really right for you? To answer this question, we examined the unique characteristics of some of the most sought-after cities in Israel:

Are you a people with roots, with a unique character but an attraction to cultural diversity? You are Jerusalem!

On the one hand, as the city of three religions, Jerusalem represents a cultural richness in which anyone, from any background and at any stage of life, can find their place. On the other hand, Jerusalem has the Jerusalemites and their unique cultural world, which is expressed in the Jerusalem slang mastered by every Jerusalem native who spent his childhood playing 'five stones', collecting 'ajou' and asking his parents to buy him a 'bambalik' in the Mahaneh, the Mahane Yehuda market of course.

Jerusalem is home to Israel's most important institutions, such as the Knesset, government offices, and the Supreme Court. The city's academic institutions and major medical centers attract an educated and learned population to the capital. The city's residents enjoy better transportation thanks to the introduction of the light rail, and these days, after a long wait, the high-speed train line between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv is also in operation.

You are community members, protecting the environment but not compromising on the pleasures of life – you are Herzliya!

With a thriving industrial and entertainment area, a leading academic institution, and a beautiful, clean coastline, and a peaceful community and family life, all within a ten-minute drive of metropolitan Tel Aviv, Herzliya has much to offer its residents. It’s no wonder it received particularly high scores in the Geoctagraphy Institute’s survey of residents’ satisfaction with the city’s services.

Herzliya is also one of the leading cities in Israel in the areas of sustainability and the environment, and was recently selected as one of the 10 greenest municipalities in Israel. This is thanks to investment in expanding Herzliya Park and establishing green lungs, expanding community gardens, and promoting energy efficiency processes.

Are you an accomplished person, love your peace and quiet, but don't want to stray too far from the heart of things? You are Kiryat Ono!

Not far from Bar Ilan University and Tel Hashomer Hospital is Kiryat Ono, one of the leading cities in Israel according to the socio-economic index. Kiryat Ono is a small suburban city but quite close to the center of the Dan Bloc and close to major transportation routes. In the coming years, the Purple Line of the light rail is expected to enter the city, bringing Kiryat Ono even closer to the center of the country.

Kiryat Ono is characterized by a strong population consisting mainly of working-age residents and earning an average of 15,666 NIS (according to National Insurance data as of 2016). The education system in Kiryat Ono is one of the best in Israel, and the city's education according to the Madeleine Index scores 89 compared to a national average of only 55.

Are you a family man with a somewhat childish soul and a love for aesthetics and design? You are Holon!

Although Holon was declared a 'children's city' more than 30 years ago, even today, about a third of the city's residents are under the age of 18. As part of the city's vision, Holon places the quality of life and health of the future generation at the top of the list of priorities from infancy.

Holon is home to the Children's Museum, Peres Park, the Yamit 2000 water park, the Mediatech, and the Gan Sipur playgrounds, which were inspired by children's stories. Holon also attracts many design and aesthetic lovers, thanks to the design studies at the Holon Institute of Technology and to moves made in recent years to create a green and aesthetic urban environment for the well-being of its residents.

Do you need the action, love the good life, and are sick of the sea? You are Tel Aviv!

Finally, a conclusion – with about a million and a half tourists a year, thanks to leading cultural institutions, thriving businesses, a huge variety of culinary establishments and entertainment venues, Tel Aviv has rightfully earned itself the name 'the city without a break.' But Tel Aviv does not only excel in leisure, it is also the largest business center in Israel, and about 12% of all businesses in Israel operate there, more than any other city.

Tel Aviv is a leader in finance, high-tech, and academia, with tens of thousands of students passing through the gates of Tel Aviv University each year. And while Tel Aviv doesn't exactly excel in parking spaces, in recent years it has become a pioneer in establishing innovative and environmental initiatives for the benefit of residents in the areas of transportation, from Tel-Ophan bicycle rental services to the 'Autotel' project for sharing vehicles for short trips in the city.
